The game was received warmly enough and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 was placed on the 31st and 28th places (in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 lists respectively) in the IGN list of "100 best games". WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 sold best of all games of the series - only in 2009 it was sold 47 million copies of this.
