Review: The Long Dark a computer game in the genre of survival simulator with a first-person with elements of open world developed by the Canadian company Hinterland for Microsoft Windows platforms and OS X. Alpha version of the game came out September 22 2014 under the Early Access  in Steam 1.  Developers have received funding for the development of the game at the expense of the company on Kickstarter in October 2013 2.  The Long Dark is the debut project team Hinterland Studio.  The game received positive reviews still on alpha stage of development.

The Long Dark was developed in the genre of survival with a first-person.  Locations are open world specifically the action game is set in the wilds of the Pacific coast of Canada after the crash of the aircraft bound for Sitka (Alaska) in conditions of a global catastrophe of unknown (according to the flight route and the topography near the village of La Ku'alams  under Prince Rupert).  The player assumes the role of the surviving pilot.  The aim of the game is survival of the largest possible amount of time.  The game includes elements of simulation there are indicators of the ambient temperature the number of calories the degree of saturation / hunger fatigue;  also simulated air temperature and wind speed wildlife.
